about me

I’m Justin Livingston, a filmmaker and creative storyteller from California’s Central Coast. I founded Just Living Media as a reflection of how I try to live life — unscripted, authentic, and present.

With a background in marketing and visual arts from the University of San Diego, I bring both creative intuition and strategic thinking to every frame. I started filming in 2023, drawn first to the fast paced nature and raw emotion of sports. Since then, I’ve produced content across USD’s 15 athletic programs and expanded into weddings, creative shorts, and commercial storytelling.

Outside of the lens, I’m a proud father and partner, supported by my long-term partner, Alexa and son Luca, whose love keeps this creative journey grounded and purposeful. When I’m not documenting life, you can find me rock climbing, camping along the coast, or binge-watching my favorite show with family.

USD Mental Health Video

Created in partnership with USD Softball, this piece sheds light on the mental challenges athletes face beyond the scoreboard. Through raw reflection and honest conversation, it reminds us that strength isn’t just physical — it’s the courage to be open, vulnerable, and human.

Senior Project

This short film, created as my senior project in USD’s Advanced Art Video course, blends 16mm film and digital media to explore emotion and human vulnerability. Filmed at “The Crying Bench” on campus, it weaves together the voices of my peers with a personal letter to my son.
